Voter Identification Requirements
To vote, all voters must present valid government-issued photo identification. Acceptable forms of photo ID include, but are not limited to:
- Government-issued identification card (federal, provincial, or local) that includes a photo
- Driver’s license from any official government agency
- Department of National Defence driver’s license (DND 404)
- Canadian Armed Forces Identification Card
- Canadian Passport, NEXUS card, or Permanent Resident Card
If you're an Alberta resident legally entitled to live in Canada and don't have valid photo ID, you can apply for an identification card at Registry Services to use as your photo ID.
