Sexsmith & District Museum Society

The Sexsmith & District Museum Society
An organizational meeting for the Sexsmith to the Smoky Historical Society was held on April 16, 1977, at Teepee Creek to begin work on writing a history book for the area. Senior citizens from Sexsmith and Teepee Creek were asked to serve as directors of the society. On April 7, 1978, the society was incorporated under the name "Sexsmith to the Smoky Historical Society." The group set out to gather stories from local and former residents, leading to the publication of Wagon Trails Grown Over in 1980. In 1988, the society’s name was changed to the "Sexsmith & District Museum Society."
The Sexsmith & District Museum Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history and culture of Sexsmith and the surrounding region.
